it's always people who rarely venture out of their own town or always do the same farmiliar journeys that slag off drivers using sat-navs... garden centre and carvery on sundays, denture fitting tuesday, OAP bingo friday... try a 150mile round trip across 3 unknown counties, to 5 unfamiliar destinations.. throw in a motorway closure or an accident... and see how you get on with an atlas and 3 seperate county maps ??? (and no, morris from bowles club isn't allowed be map-reader)

You are not stuck in traffic, YOU ARE TRAFFIC.

A few years ago we were coming back from Alton Towers. I'd used my TomTom enabled mobile, but the maps were out of date. At one point the TomTom was telling me to turn around, I looked at it to find I was now in a field of green. My response was to laugh & point it out to my passengers.
New section of road we were on wasn't on my out dated maps.

Now if one of these idiots had the same experience would they laugh, or panic & crash?

Bet these are the same idiots that I get stuck behind on slip roads. We're about to join a 70mph road & they are doing less than 40mph & braking!

There should be national information ads run on TV showing people how to 'merge in turn' & 'how to join a motoway'
Millions could be saved in useless road safety measures.
That's before the special edition 'Sat nav's don't replace signposts' info ad.

Why is it some people just can't get the concept of 'merge-in-turn' ?

doing motorbike training couple of years back... was told to always expect drivers to do the worst possible at the worst possible.. then boot off their wing mirror
I'm all for highyway-code refresher tests, especially as they keep changing it and adding to it .. do on-line.. and free.
