France and Italy in call to close EU borders in wake of Arab protests
France and Italy have thrown down the gauntlet over Europe's system of passport-free travel, saying a crisis of immigration sparked by the Arab spring was calling into question the borderless regime enjoyed by more than 400 million people in 25 countries.
Challenging one of the biggest achievements of European integration of recent decades, Nicolas Sarkozy and Silvio Berlusconi also launched a joint effort to stem immigration and demanded European deportation pacts with the countries of revolutionary north Africa to send new arrivals packing.
Since when these borders were left wide open, and how they are going to stop those hanging behind the trucks when crossing borders remains to be sean.

Closing the borders nothing going in, nothing going out if we stand for what the meaning of closing was. Birds can migrant from Middle East with no problem that?s the clear way of my understanding as I haven?t a clue what the pair are own about my self.

what they are saying is they want passport control back on the borders. something the UK has never given up.

I think that this border closing has been on the cards for France for some time, and more to do with stopping other Europeans from entering, but now that Italy are backing they focus has shifted to non Europeans as an excuse.
