A SPECIAL Forces Major has been nicked for allegedly stealing ?100,000 of kit - and selling it on eBay.
The Special Boat Services chief is on bail over claims he flogged military gear taken from stores at the unit's HQ in Poole, Dorset.
The commander, who we cannot name due to his elite role, has not been suspended.
A probe was triggered after the officer's WIFE called the SBS when he was in Afghanistan to ask them to clear kit from the couple's home.
It included combat trousers and tops, and Swiss-made Traser watches used by Special Forces worldwide. MoD police suspected the kit, which does NOT include weaponry, was stolen and the officer was later arrested.
The major - who joined the SBS from the Marines and has led dangerous missions behind enemy lines - is understood to deny the claims.
A source said: "If this were proven, it would be deeply embarrassing to the Special Forces community."
The MoD did not comment.
, nice watches all the same. Wouldn't mind one myself.
