South Carolina on Friday executed a man who strangled his cellmate, using a new combination of lethal injection drugs for the first time.
Jeffrey Motts, 36, was declared dead at 6:17 p.m. He was given the sedative pentobarbital instead of sodium thiopental as part of the lethal three drug combination because federal agents seized the state's supply as part of a nationwide investigation into whether prisons obtained the drugs legally from England.

Death penalty should still be outlawed. How can you tell people killing is wrong when the state/country are killing people. Ironic don't you think?

They are also getting away lightly by being executed. I'd rather them spend life in a 6x8 cell getting bummed by a big black guy.

all in all society has rules enforced by laws if these people weigh
up the good and bad and decide to kill
then in my opinion the person should forfeit their own life
a life in prison is not a deterrent any more its really not working
if the actual stakes are higher then the percentage will go down

if people remove the so called human rights of someone by killing them
then they should be tried in the same manner
its so easy to say its killing but i think its upping the anti to get results
desensitised to violent crime is a definite result in modern times

my take on it is if you wear the uniform of an army another army under certain laws can take your life
if you commit heinous crimes and kill people in cold blood
then that law should be applied
after all this method is more than likely the better of the options they gave their victim ?
