Stephen Lawrence: two charged over murder

The 18-year-old A-level student was stabbed to death at a bus stop in Eltham, south east London.
Gary Dobson, 35, and David Norris, 34, were arrested last September over the April 1993 murder and are in custody.
The allegations could not be reported until today for legal reasons.
The trial is due to take place in November at the Old Bailey, where a further hearing is due to take place in the next two months.
Norris, wearing a dark suit and tieless shirt, was at the Court of Appeal while Dobson was not present.
Some reporting restrictions surrounding the case remain in place.
A judge at the Court of Appeal said new evidence has come to light that justifies the quashing of Dobson's original acquittal.

This is the case I do not understand why it has taken so long to bring charges in court.

This case and the damiola taylor were cases I remember growing up with and you just wonder at times about how bad the human race can be.

It has been now 18years ago we do not need witness, we had the DNA, we had the knife the finger prints, some one in the authorities were covering up the evidence, remember this was a murder not an accident and the family need the justice they deserve. I hope they will finally get it.

l remember at the time this happened my mates dad who was a cop saying the only witness said they saw a black lad running from the seen , but they where told to look the other way by chiefs , and they had a secret camera in the house of these lads and yes they where playing around wife knives and being pratts but never once mentioned the stabbing ?

So where is this dna, where are the fingerprints ? How do YOU know it was murder?

I have read enough.
So do we just beleive what we read in the papers and send the 2 to jail on the strength of it?
Perhaps you can explain what the poster above cant mate.
If there was finger prints, dna and it was a cover up and everyone knows about it then why is it only the 2 guys in court ?
Why arent the people that covered up the evidence etc up in court too?

The whole case was a shambles from start to finish
3investigations thousands of police hours and not to mention the costs involved, the met are a ~~~~in law until themselves
There failure to provide vital evidence to the prisecuting legal team should mean they are in the dock along with the scum that knifed him to death who thecwhole ~~~~in world know the name of

Wasn't the DNA off a Donna kebab and they did say it's was there's but dropped hours before ? Think they should of let this lie , cost is in the millions and it's going to go the same way this time

Multiple knife stabbing he did it him self or some animals got hold of a knife and killed him and as thewizardofodds mention how do you know it was murder, I think you have lot to learn in life. It might be embarrassing for the Met Police but they will have to come up with a very good excuse in the court not to charge these culprits in the first place and a lot to learn from the mistakes.

The cps drop cases all the time because there's not enough evidence . Can't see wants changed this time , let's hope they have found something new ?
