Barack Obama was right: Guinness really does taste better in Ireland

Visiting his ancestral home in Moneygall, Ireland, this week Barack Obama announced that the Guinness tastes better in Ireland than anywhere else in the world.
"The first time I had Guinness," Obama said, "is when I came to the Shannon airport. We were flying into Afghanistan and so stopped in Shannon. It was the middle of the night. And I tried one of these and I realised it tastes so much better here than it does in the States ... You're keeping all the best stuff here!"
Maybe he's right. According to research published in the Journal of Food Science in March, Guinness does not travel well.
Like all great funny stories to come out of a pub, it started with an Irishman, an Englishman, a Dutchman and a German walking into bars. They spent a year of their spare time (probably quite happily) testing the stout in 14 different countries.

Lets hear from the Irish man does the stuff realy tast good in Irland your opinian as is it worth travelling to Irland.

I like my Guinness and I've had a pint in the Guinness brewery itself and drunk a fair few elsewhere in Dublin.

Tbh, I think Guinness on draught tastes just the same over here, providing you drink it in a pub that knows how to look after it.
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

ive drank a lot of it here and in other countries and i cant say its been bad elsewhere but ive defo had my best pints at home(also my worst). only problem now is all the supercold Guinness. cant taste it anymore and you get a look like you are insane if you ask for it mild. i like to taste whether its bad or not. best guinness ive got in ireland didnt go through a cooler at all. the barrel was in a cellar and it took 4-5 topups to get the all head off. mmmmmmmmmm...............

It really taste like stout and you will have to drink lot more then beer to get drunk but about the taste I will have to travel where the river flow from to make my own mind.
