    Is this the end of speed bumps?

    New rules introduced by the Department of Transport today could see the end of speed bumps. '20mph zones'
    It's a little known fact that the proliferation of the dreaded speed hump is down to red tape and cost, but that's all about to change, as the Government today (June 13) announces new measures to ease the life of local councils. The result could mean a lot less speed humps on the road, though more 20mph zones.

    It might be the end of speed bumps but it?s another money making scheme coming ahead if you ask me!!!!!!!!

    ~~~~ing speed humps, ~~~~ing millions of the coonts round notts , ~~~~ ya cars up, bout time they ~~~~ed em all off, i cant see a problem with a 20mph limit around built up areas, most of the drivers stick to the speed limits anyway, its just the minority of drivers who speed, and they deserved to get fined and get points, bring the 20mph limits in if it gets rid of speed humps which i dont think it will as it will cost a fortune to remove them. and them irresposible drivers dont slow down anyway for the humps.
          Ahh, good news.. we hadnt got any speed bumps in our area until last year when they dropped the speedlimit to the access road to the area..
          Problem is when we drive over these humps 1 hump is a little to high..
          Its one of those square ones which you normaly align the car so it centres it.. but.. when we do so it hits the engine cover ~~~~in thing..
            If you think that's bad you should see what a friend had to do to get his Westfield out of his street.
            Ground clearance was so low that he couldn't go anywhere near a speed bump, so he had to drive over the paths. There were loads of complaints from locals about it, but the council & police couldn't do a thing against him as it was proved he couldn't ride over the bumps at the only entrance to his area.
            ~~~~ers should be removed from the roads everywhere. All they do is ~~~~ up the suspension on cars & slow down emergency response vehicles.

              here in M/C is a LONG side street with millions of cars, everybody spedds, to get out before the another car comes, so council said ' do you want speed humps' i said, nil poi, just make a yellow 'no parking' outside this house and that house, to pull over into.

              too simple

                Its too simple because they'd rather waste money buying red tape and consultations..

                Trouble is to tell these councils or whatever how to do half the stuff they do money is needed and wasted on consultations..
