Military Campaign in Libya 'Costs UK ?250m'

The Government will reveal on Thursday that the cost of UK military operations in Libya is ?250m so far, according to sources in Whitehall.

Earlier this week, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander, said the cost of the fighting was "hundreds of millions".

Speaking to Sky News, Mr Alexander admitted the bill for the operations was mounting.

On Monday, David Cameron said the military should stick to the fighting and "I'll do the talking".

    What spending cuts?
Whose money are we talking about?

Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

Did you know People will question all the good things they hear about you but believe all the bad without a second thought.

I'd like to see the true bill after everyday costs are taken out rather than the hyped Newspaper reports. Take away the wages of the Military as that would be getting paid even if they sat back home in their Barracks. The ships would still be out at sea or doing training exercises using the same amount of Fuel. The main additional costs would be the Armaments getting fired at the Lybians. If they're British Armaments then money goes to British firms and the tax to the taxman. The manufacturers would be employing more people thus paying more wages and taxes. The BBC sells news reports World Wide paying even more taxes. We get the new Lybian keaders in place and do dodgy deals for Oil etc keeping our prices a bit lower which will benefit us all. Our Companies pick up more dodgy trade deals, arms, oil, kebabs etc. Give it a few years and it will more than pay for itself. Quite a good business plan if you ask me.

The other option we could have of course is to withdraw all troops from Overseas and set up a Home Defence Force. Lay off 80% of the armed forces in a time when jobs are like rocking horse shit. Stop selling arms overseas and lose out on Billions of pounds of deals when Labour has screwed our economy ten times as much as Thatcher did. Let the Russians and Chinese step in and do deals instead then they can hold us to ransom for fuel. Watch our inflation go through the roof and Civil riots take place in most Cities when there's no money left to pay the unemployed or for schools, health service, waste collection etc.

It is shi@@ but sadly unless you're one of the Worlds Military powers you're a nobody and will have little powers on the World Stage. Take a step back from normal views and see if you can list a Country which has limited natural resources or Military and see where they sit in the pecking order.

The poorly informed moan that we get involved in one Battle but not another and call it selective but behind the news there is more dodgy dealing going on than the public can see. We threaten to sort out one Country for the way they treat their people and they go to the Russians, Chinese etc and say " Protect us from the British and we'll give you drilling rights etc". The Russians, Chinese then threaten us behind closed doors with retaliation if we get involved and we back down. You only need to listen to the NATO briefings to see it going on.
