Food festival in China..( few disturbing pics )

I was visiting someone in victoria barracks a long time ago and i made the mistake of finding my own local eating place,ive ate dog,it tasted really sweet and to be honest i was enjoying it untill i was told what it was..

Firstly, I don't condone it, not for a second, and yes I think their sick. But it comes down to " different cultures " imo.
I was in Thailand a few times, and saw them eat some ~~~~ed up shite. One night when I was shitfaced, I decided to try some stuff from the little stalls. I got a bag of Grasshoppers !!, they fried them and gave em to me like a bag o crisps and threw in a scorpion for luck . ~~~~ me, next mornin, when I remembered, I nearly threw up.

grasshoppers, fine, scorpions, mmm tasty. rats, yummy i imagine, but people that eat dogs for a gourmet experience are sick fcuks. (unless they have to for survival)

shame as they are great animals its pitiful to see them killed and eaten

I do find this pretty horrible, and I can't help but hate the Chinese for it, even though I know I have no right to criticise since I'll happily eat a cow or a chicken. I love dogs. Some of my best friends have been dogs. I can't say I've ever had more than a passing acquaintance with a cow or a chicken. So, whilst I detest the practice of eating dogs, I guess I'll have to accept it on the basis of 'respecting their culture' ...in theory. It becomes unacceptable when their treatment of the dogs becomes cruel or inhumane, and i'm willing to bet it does, in most cases.

I'm more prepared to accept the culinary traditions of tribal Papua New Guineans, who eat their relatives after they die. Imagine your granny chowing on your nads after your untimely death.

Yeah, I'd eat a human before I'd eat a dog, at least insofar as It wouldn't afflict me with some maddening disease.

Just because we in the West have all but humanised the Canine, it doesn't mean that it's any better than the cow, pig, chicken or fish.
