In spite of a HSE which should be thoroughly slimmed down of its excess fat or that A & E services are being cut back and hundreds of patients lying on trollies waiting for beds, this genius of a health minister has time to ponderSmoking in cars may soon be banned, says Health Minister - National News, Frontpage - Independent.ie

My wife was in hospital 2 years ago and I had a phone call to pick her up,I got to the hospital about 1 hour later and found her still on her bed waiting for her tablets which she had to have before she was allowed to leave. A nurse from a&e came up to the ward and asked when can we have the bed as some one is waiting for it on a trolley and was told waiting for the pharmacy to get the tablets. Every hour a nurse would go down to the pharmacy to see if they where ready and the nurse from a&e would come up to see if they could have the bed .After 6 hours I got feed up and the staff on the ward said this happens every day so would I phone up and complain so I went to the carpark to use my mobile phone and phoned up the complaints department and arrange to meet in the ward. We agreed to disagree she said it was the fault of the nurse for telling me she was ready to come home and I said it was the pharmacy either they where incompetent or they where short staffed and it was there job to sort out the problem as some poor patient has been laying on a trolley because of few tablets. but she would not have it and kept blaming the nursesComment

have a look at the proposals
looks strangely familiar
seems that if your a pen pusher or red tape bureaucracy you are pretty safe
but if you push patients and or actually work with patients then your on shaky ground as to your employment and future
top doctors and administration have all looked after their own interests
nurses ancillary staff and porters have been not so well protected
see how the health service helps patients and runs with a pen pusher and a ward or A&E dept with no staff ...
the NHS restructuring started happening in the mid 90's
removing nurses and matrons (to give them more power to wield)....appointing clinical support workers and giving nurses doctors tasks (practitioner nurses) and generally reconstituting something that didn't actually need a reform
now the pen pushers are starting to feel the pinch
whilst wanting to save their own skins and jobs are doing what they do best
remove the workforce that work and in the meantime make contingency plans and pension plans to save them when it goes tits up
self preservation at work here !
while the fundamental staff that actually run a hospital are being shredded and decimated to a skeletal crew
so ..
with admin saved ,,,,,,,services cut and staff now down to a non functioning minimum
too many chiefs and..... no Indians to cover the front-line
"shame as our NHS was once envied throughout the entire world"
is now being decimated and contorted and might be set up for a complete privatisation
i hope not
a simple cure would be to sack the fat cats and employ more front-line nurses and support ..not pen pushers as they do not cure nor have any form of medical training yet reap the best rewards and salaries
unfair ? ..i think so !
if you think so support these guys ! its your tax money your parliament your government is supposed to work FOR and REPRESENT YOU !
don't think it will fix itself.....it wont
its your NHS save this at all costs ........ don't let these out of touch arses kill something for financial gains in the name of the economy as it simply is not the case !Last edited by racin-snake; 28 July, 2011, 21:40.Today is the Tomorrow you worried about yesterday ......Was it worth it ?
