Telly historian David Starkey accused of racist outburst on BBC Newsnight

HISTORIAN David Starkey faced allegations of racism yesterday after claiming about the riots that the problem is ?whites have become black?.

Mr Starkey was appearing on the BBC?s Newsnight when he came out with the comment, which sparked anger on social networking website Twitter.

He went on: ?The chavs have become black. The whites have become black.

A violent, destructive, nihilistic gangster culture has become the fashion and black and white, boy and girl, operate in this language together... that?s why so many of us have this sense of literally living in a foreign country.?

I think he is trying so say that the youth culture idolises the black gangster life. Years ago it was mainly a black thing, now the young white underclass is caught up in it too

If he was on about the Black Gangsta culture he's hit it on the head. You would have to be blind to miss it. It makes my shi+ itch when you hear them talking on the TV. Some sad White kid talking as if he's came off the last plane from Jamaica and walking as if he's got one leg shorter than the other, It's got loser written all over it.

You look back to when the first Coloureds started coming over to the UK. They were hard working, God fearing people who earned a lot of respect. Sadly now we've had a couple of generations where they've not lived with their parents and been educated by MTV and computer games. They mix with similar individuals and suddenly it becomes the norm and anyone else is the problem.

I'm afraid the man is right. Here in America they are so afraid to seen as a racist we elected a Black man president. You see they always say blacks are disadvantage so they take a getto black and bus him to schools where white make up 99% of the students. Now they think the blacks would become white but the opposite happens and the whites become black. How else did they come up with the word wigger.
