The bottom line is if the Tory Government of today released the papers that told what was said by Thatcher and her cabinet in 1989 it will show them up as being incompetent and incapable and they don't want that do they, Why else wouldn't they want the papers made public ?

The coroner put a cut off time of 3-15pm in which he said everybody was dead and would not accept any evidence after that time.
There is lots of evidence to prove that this was not the case. There are statements from Police officers fans and a doctor to say that people were still alive and breathing at 4pm. All of this has been ignored.

It's been one whitewash after another but still the families, friends and supporters will not give in. What would you do if a member of your family died in tragic circumstances never mind going to watch a ~~~~in football game. There has been cover up after cover up. We get told to let it go it's been 23 years. Would any of you let it go if it was your family of friends that died there?
these papers need releasing the families need closure the truth needs to be told and justice has to be done.

The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'. -
I've never fathomed out why people want to see what was said in cabinet meetings etc regarding this tragic event. I can see people might want to get to the truth of certain things but i'm seriously doubting you'd find any of those truths in cabinet discussion papers. Thats generally not the way things work in any government.
I've no doubt your right and the papers will show incompetance but the same could be said for the records of just about any cabinet meeting regarding just about any subject. The only real thing that becomes apparent when examining cabinet papers is how little expertise government ministers have for any subject but, of course, everybody knows that already.Comment

good post bulldog i agree some of those coppers should be brought to task for their negligence and also the government ministers who have covered the thing up for years. Good luck to the families who hopefully will get closure and justice.Comment

I also don't understand the need to know about failings of Police Officers etc in this disaster. They were no doubt ordered to attend the game and I'm sure plenty of them were pretty pissed off giving up a day with the family to attend a sporting event. I still can't understand why the Police are even used. The clubs should provide and pay for their own security and ushers and let the Police get on with what the tax payer pays them for.
I have full sympathy for those that persihed and their families but it won't bring them back. I'm sure there's plenty of different parties to blame but the Politicians and Police are always the easy targets.Comment

Because the failings are what killed people. There is that flippant know ~~~~ all attitude again. It won't bring them back so forget it.

Very sad loss of life if I remember right lots of lies told in the papers at the time mainly the sun.The police where so traumatized at what they saw they got a big hand out. I take it the families got nothing not even sorry.Comment

Very sad it was that day.
But wouldn?t they open the Bradford football ground fire disaster when the security man was not at the seen to open the pad lock gates for people to escape.
No one was charged.Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!
