Will there be anyone left to defend the UK?

Nearly 150 Gurkhas will be told they have been made redundant against their will when the army announces the first wave of job losses.

In total, more than 1,800 soldiers and RAF personnel will learn today whether their jobs remain.

There will be 260 complusory redundancies in the army, with 140members of the 3,500 strong Brigade of Gurkhas among the casualties.

The announcements came as Prime Minister David Cameron said his role came with no greater privilege than meeting members of the armed forces.

He made the remarks at a ceremony to mark repatriation ceremonies returning to RAF Brize Norton from RAF Lyneham.

The Government's decision has faced opposition from those who claim it will weaken the forces.

If the soldiers survive the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq & Libya, on their return to the UK they will be met with their P45!
SLOWLY, OUR FREEDOM IS BEING ERASED.
SOON, WE WILL JUST BE A NUMBER.
IF WE DON'T FOLLOW, WE WILL BE ERASED.

yes it is a sad day when we have to lay off the people of the services who have stood by and protected us in these very volatile times.
As a true blue I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to all our service personel.
The real people of this country would like to see the many millions of pounds wasted on useless enterprises go to supporting the people who protect and really care about our country.

    regards....smoggy

      It stinks.

But I was basicaly given my P45 in the early 90s when the cold war ended and the Berlin Wall came down after 6 years service in the army.

Life goes on, but I feel for people that have served in hostile countries and are now about to be sent to civvy street. Can't be easy.

They should get rid of the Pen Pushers that wasted all the money , and keep the people that are willing to defend this country.
