Council will probably give them money to move, so the pikeys will go without incident, then set up camp next to some other unfortunate buggers in the country and make their lives hell.

Pretty lame travellers if you ask me. You'd think they'd be gratefull for the additional travelling to somewhere else.

thought the whole idea of being a traveller was to travel
        hmmmm
if they don't want to travel, why not offer them one of the run down tower blocks to live in.
thats what happens to the assylum seekers up here

          Breaking News??..

Dale Farm: Essex travellers' leader wanted ?6m to leave

          Legal solution sought
The ?6m offer was turned down because it would mean travellers profiting from breaking the law, Basildon Council said.

"The council has consistently sought a peaceful resolution to the Dale Farm situation and done all it can to avoid a forced clearance of the site," Mr Ball said.

          ?6m for what?
I never thought they own the land!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

Did you know People will question all the good things they hear about you but believe all the bad without a second thought.

They laugh at this, the "Buffors" making rules against themselves to help us "mace" them.

They have all been offered council houses but have refused them according to a council spokesman, but I have only ever seen this mentioned on one report. Perhaps more should be made of this statement and this fact should be made to the travellers supporters who seem to think they are being forced onto the side of the road.
I understand that travelling is supposed to be their way of life but these particular travellers are no longer travelling and just want to create their own community and keep out anyone else including the law, so I say sorry but no you cannot have your own way. Remember it is not all of Dale Farm being moved only those that are there illegally.

This is the most ironic and laughable story i've heard.
They want to be labelled travellers yet they 'don't do' travelling.
So they set up camp somewhere and then try to claim they don't want to live the same way we do, which they have now been doing so for years!
I don't think even they know what they want anymore!

to be fair...the idea of travelling up and down the country, doing jobs cash in hand, or even volunteer work, here and there to get you buy and see you off to the next place does sound like a pretty fun idea for a gap year (think the simple life )
not a way of life though.

And what exactly is it that makes them think they're better than us, deserve a different treament?

They cook their dinner, watch tv and sleep approximately 75cm away from where they shit...im not envious of that at all!

Looks like the environmentalists have grabbed hold of this story and moved in with the travellers......
Pat Kenny said on RTE radio 1 that there is a share of vegetarian food going into the site along with the usual Kentucky Fried chicken.

Agree with what you say Chelsea. one thing though, travellers dont use the toilet in their vans, they prefer to go Al Fresco, so its a lot more likely that we have our picnics 75cms from a travellers pooh

(they think we are disgusting for having a toilet near where we sleep)

I travel the length and breadth of Ireland, and drove through Rathkeale a few times. Some nice looking houses alright, but you'd know they were knackers houses, with caravans out the back, and the houses not lived in at all!!

BTW,the problem could be sorted out more easily with these scumbags,if someone had the balls to absolutely blitz these ~~~~ing idiot activists(WTF is the idea behind cementing your hands into a cemented barrel ?)

I said it before, let the riot squad loose for a couple of hours on these dickheads !!
