    Health Lottery starts today

The Health Lottery first draw starts tonight ~ You have to get 5 numbers from the 50 numbers in the draw to win the top prize of ?100,000. The odds against winning are 2,118,760 to 1. This compares to winning the National lottery with 6 numbers out of 49 and odds against of 13,983,816 to 1.
The prize for 4 numbers in the Health Lottery is guaranteed at ?500 and for 3 numbers ?50. In the national lottery 4 numbers gets you around ?60/80 and 3 numbers ?10. I think the health lottery is worth a go. I also think it will seriously affect the National Lottery, who will need to have a rethink on the value and number of prizes they are currently offering. 6 million quid would make one or two people very happy. I think 60 people winning ?100,000 is a lot more happy people.

ok valid point, but as it's a new idea, they have to start somewhere, how many millions of pounds has it cost to print the cards, deliver the pos, modify a visa machine! etc etc

How long before the tory scum use this lottery as a reason to pull out more funding from the NHS?

I dont think the lottery is for the NHS as such but for heath related charities ~ 20p is not bad considering the fixed level of the prize money. Maybe this figure will be revised once the draw is established and the running costs are confirmed.
