    Probe into DC false name claim




    Scotland Yard has called in the police watchdog over allegations that an undercover officer took part in a criminal trial under a false name.

    Jim Boyling, a specialist operations Detective Constable with the Met Police, is accused of maintaining an alias throughout court proceedings after being arrested following a demonstration in 1996.

    A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "The MPS has tonight, Thursday October 20, contacted the IPCC with a view to making a formal referral to them tomorrow.

    "This follows consideration today of allegations relating to historic covert police deployments."

                  Some of these undercover guys put their lives on the line by working undercover and should be afforded some sort of protection by using a false name. The thing that should matter is the inteligence that they gather. If it's made up hammer them. If it puts some scum bag away who gives a toss if Mickey Mouse provided the evidence.

                  A lot of the organisations these men and women infiltrate have some serious head bangers in them even some of the so called minor demonstrations. You only need to look at the recent events on the telly to see how peacefull protests get infiltrated by scum stirring up the shi@ and putting innocent peoples lives at risk.

                  With technology as it is today it is very easy to track down an individuals history and family. If these Police Officers operated under their true identities it would also put their families at risk. It's a serious risk and one that is explained to all potential recruits before they undergo training and one of the man factors in the majority of potential recruits dropping out of selection.

                      slightly confused what the problem is here.

                      If the guy needed a name change, all he had to do was ask admin rather than go to court.

                      what does it matter, as he is a working person?

                          You appear before the Judge only to conform your name and address.

                          Who cares when the hearing will take place??????

                          This copper decides to lie under oaths thinking he will get away.

                          When judges started digging his back ground before the next hearing, they caught up with his lies.

                          Officer should know that you can not lie in the court of law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                              Ah but sake of argument his real name is Humpty Dumpty and he brought a load of tippex and is now called Manfred Mann - when the judge searched Manfred Mann surly all he found was 'some bloke'?

                              Is was he 'caught out' via chassis number.


                              But thing was what did he do wrong anyway?

                                  Sadly even some Judges and a lot of Lawyers are not exactly law abiding and some are in the pockets of scum. A typical example is when an undercover operative has to plant listening devices. As part of the process they have to clear all legal channels to ensure the evidence they use is allowed in court. To do this they must explain to their lawyers the process used to gain this evidence so that it can't be challenged in court. The lawyer takes the money and represents the Police. A few months later the Police are up in court with another Lawyer trying to get some other scum bag locked up when they look across and see the last Lawyer they used now representing the scum bag. This lawyer explains to the scum bag all the methods the Police use so that he can come up with an alibi. In short he uses the methods he was privilaged to know to set some scum bag free.

                                  I can't see why evidence and questioning can't be done by an audio link with no names or identities given, just concentrate on the facts.

                                      Makes a mockery of the oath. If their identification needs to be protected they should be in a seperate room via tv link.
