The population of the UK is on course to reach 70 million over the next 16 years, official figures suggest.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said it was set to rise from 62.3 million in 2010 to 67.2 million by 2020 and 73.2 million by 2035.
It says just over two-thirds of the projected increase from 2010 to 2035 is either directly or indirectly due to migration.
This will be due to people entering the UK, and also their future offspring.

There are more white British people in Africa alone then the rest of the mention countries.

the ONS always over-estimates the population growth figures, you only have to look at previous predictions,
we are an aging population due to the 60s baby boomers, so in years to come there will be more deaths than births, which should even the population out,
and those that believe we don't have the land/space to grow the population, well we do, if they started to build on some of the over-protected greenbelt,
urban areas only account for 6% of the UK, it's about time we created some new towns and eased the over populated towns and city's.
