The public inquiry launched as a result of the phone hacking scandal is to start in London today.
The Leveson Inquiry , investigating the culture, practices and ethics of the press, will sit in court 73 of the Royal Courts of Justice.
It was set up by Prime Minister David Cameron after a summer of scandal, including revelations that the phone of murder victim Millie Dowler had been hacked and the closure of News Of The World newspaper.
Lord Justice Leveson, an experienced High Court judge, will sit over the hearings, supported by a panel of experts from the fields of media, law, politics and the police.
Speaking in July, Lord Justice Leveson suggested it was a time for all involved to put personal opinions to one side.
It will also review how the press is regulated and where it may have failed in the past.
With criminal investigations still ongoing, the Metropolitan Police and Crown Prosecution Service have urged caution.
