At present its doctors wanting the ban not the goverment ,I think it was the unions threating to take employers to court for passive smokers getting smoke related diseases that made the labour goverment bring in the ban in workplaces.

lv smoked for years and never smoked in my house or around my kids ,, and for smoking in the car thats mad around kids , but in my van and theres just me l'll smoke, ~~~~ the law , its my space my health and l would like to think cops would think the same and not waste my time and theres pulling me over ,

l know more people who have died from cancer who dont smoke and cancer is rising and smoking isnt so what are they going to blame it on in the future ,

While i agree with the smoking ban i think this takes things a bit too far and an infringement of civil liberties. It should be up to the parent if they do or do not want their children in the presence of a smoker while in a private car.ps i am a non smoker and have never tried the cancer sticks.

Wont happen.. All this story is about is to divert peoples attention from something else.. Get them really angry and maybe they will forget about whats going on in Europe.. put simply, its just a smoke screen.

What will people be pissed off with first?? Not being able to smoke in their cars or Germany creating a Fourth Reich.

Any anyhoo.. they couldn't stop me smoking in my company vehicle.. how on earth are they going to stop people smoking in their private cars?? seriously who's going to enforce it?? they couldn't stop the riots..

Come on UK open your eyes..

Nicotine is an addictive drug and has more long term side effects and health risks that several Class A-C drugs. The only reason it hasn't been criminalised is because the Treasury are reaping far too much tax from the addictions.
Our government is nothing more than a legalised drug dealer. It wouldn't surprise me if they dropped the facade at some point and started driving around in white Mercedes coupes with blacked-out windows and brown velour hubcaps.

Either ban smoking and criminalise it entirely or declassify several other drugs, make them freely available to the public and put a lower tax levy on all of them.
Be a drug dealer or don't be a drug dealer, just don't fcuk about in the middle.
