interestingly, on a separate note, i noticed that petrol and diesel are now the same price in Ireland again, why is that?

Word on street says that Diesel was a by product - some german bloke called Rudolf Diesel invented the diesel engine to use it - only good thing about the germans

Does biodiesel harm your engine? I've heard some people say it does.

Right this modern shit diesel is'nt as good as it could be - it has vege shit in it - if you drive a desel with a common rail engine - it ~~~~s the regulator at ?128+vat and approx ?40+vat to install (advertise advetise)

If you go into a garage you will see on the diesel pump it says this has up to 17% bio fuels in it.

Watch that percentage rise.

Anyway we run our work jeep on veg oil which we collect from local chinese and cafe's. Then filter through and bung in the engine. Its a nissan torrano 2.7td. so it might not be effected as its a big old engine.

We get 25 ltrs for ?3. BY the time we filter it ends up 20ltrs. 4 gallon for ?3. So all good

PS: The chippys use beef fat which goes hard when it cools so you need to heat it up to filter it. We stay away from that. Chinese are the best as they use stacks of oil and the are happy with a couple of quid. Also saves our drains from being blocked as chinese just put down the gully.
