A thug pictured fleeing with a bloody blade sparked "joke justice" fury last night after he escaped with 4? years jail for knifing a student.
Anti-violence campaigners and the victim's mother hit out at the soft sentence on Junior Henry, 17. He could be out in two years.
And it was revealed the same judge who jailed him yesterday had SPARED him from prison when he was convicted over a gang killing at the age of 12.
Lyn Costello, from Mothers Against Murder And Aggression, said: "This is soft justice gone absolutely mad ? a joke sentence, especially given his previous.
"It makes no sense. He could have killed someone. What kind of a message is such a light sentence?
"That he could be out in two years is appalling."
Henry of Hammersmith, West London, was snapped running away after stabbing Rio Andre, 20, at August's Notting Hill Carnival. He was arrested after a cop saw the picture in The Sun.
Rio, who was trying to break up a fight, was knifed in the stomach and has a disabled hand after the blade slashed through his tendons.
Rio's mum Tina, 53, of Hornchurch, Essex, said: "If you think you're old enough to go out with a knife or a gun, you've got to do the time ? the law isn't providing that."
The Old Bailey heard how a 12-year-old Henry had been convicted of conspiracy to cause GBH over the gang killing of student Yasin Abdirahman, who was attacked by hoodies with knives, baseball bats and bottles.
Yesterday's Judge Peter Beaumont QC had spared him custody due to his age and gave him a supervision order.
