    The ?2,700 home-brewery kit...

...that could tempt you out of the pub forever

*hmmmm thats 5400 cans o wb at tescos last good offer, hmmmm say 10 cans a day = 540 days worth, year n halfs worth o wb, ~~~~ that*

It takes just seven days to produce 40 pints of beer using the machine, and the process has been designed to be as simple as possible

The beer is fermented and carbonated in the 40-pint stainless-steel tank, eliminating the need for bottles or kegs

The WilliamsWarn Personal Brewery takes home brewing up a few levels; audaciously, the New Zealand makers claim the beer it brews is superior to anything made commercially.

It takes just seven days to produce 40 pints of beer using the machine, and the process has been designed to be as simple as possible.

On day one, you clean and sterilise the tank, then add the water, malt and yeast.

The dials on the top control the temperature and pressure within the tank. The pressure needs to be checked every day during brewing to ensure perfect carbonation

Perfection doesn't come cheap, of course. The Personal Brewery costs around ?2,700

Currently, WilliamsWarn sells ingredients for summer ale, blonde ale and English pale ale (cider, ginger beer and sparkling wine are all in the pipeline). You then set the temperature and pressure. And that?s pretty much it.

Towards the end of the week, the sediment bottle is removed, the beer is cooled and a clarifi cation agent is flushed through (curiously, using a SodaStream CO2 cylinder). On day seven, it?s ready to pour.

The one-tank design eliminates the beer?s exposure to the air, keeping it fresher.

And the whole process is temperature-controlled, which makes for better brewing and a perfectly chilled pint.

Perfection doesn?t come cheap, of course. The Personal Brewery costs around ?2,700 (or approximately 670 pints).

My local home brew shop sell a still which looks very similar to this. Also a range of flavour's for home made vodka. They say it's legal to sell the still but not to sell the produced alcohol. still 500 quid. Possible fine thousand's.
