Embryonic Stem Cell Research - End of a Dream

There is nothing so harmful to science and medicine as a political agenda.

"The Democrats' decade-long strategy of hyping embryo stem cell research crashed into a hard fact on Nov.15. Thats when Geron Corp., the worlds leading embryo research company, announced it was closing down its much-touted stem cell program, despite the guarantee of more government aid from Democratic-affiliated sources."

Surely if their research was working they'd make enough money to fund it themselves. Or was there no money left after the Directors had taken their cut?

So basically stem cell technology DOES work, and has been used in hospitals, but the US Government doesn't want to back it and make it freely available to all?

      Hmmm....that smells like a conspiracy.

Stem cells from adults have been shown to work but there has been issues with embryotic stem cells. Cancer and a few other dodgy side effects. There's no way a Government would give up on a potential cash cow if it was safe.
