    Weather latest: Warning issued of high winds followed by snow




    The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning of high winds affecting central and southern Scotland tomorrow.

    The red warning - which advises people to take action to prepare for the severe conditions - covers the areas of Central, Tayside, Fife, Strathclyde, south west Scotland and Lothian & Borders.

    Major travel disruption is likely across much of Central Scotland tomorrow afternoon due to strong winds of 75-80mph and potential gusts of up to 90mph.

              8/11/12 the day Scotland was awfy windae- mare than usual!!. Did we panic? naw! did we evacuate? naw! did we abandon Scotland? naw!.
              We jist had oor tea a wee bit early incase the leccy went oot!
              Americans get Katrina, Irene or Pauline, we got Bawbag!!!!-you may take oor fences, you may take oor wheelie bins n trampolines but you will never take oor banter.
