    Operation Elveden: Woman held in police payments probe.

    Operation Elveden was launched after claims journalists made illegal payments to police officers.

    A 37-year-old woman has been arrested over alleged payments to police officers, Scotland Yard has said.

    She was arrested in Surrey by Operation Elveden detectives and has been taken to a south London police station, where she remains in custody.

    It is the seventh arrest for the police operation into alleged police corruption, which is running alongside the investigation into phone hacking.

    That inquiry - Operation Weeting - has seen 16 arrests.
    Operation Elveden was launched after officers were handed documents suggesting journalists working for News International had made illegal payments to police officers.

    A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the woman had been arrested "on suspicion of committing offences involving making payments to police officers for information" at 06:15 GMT.

    "She was arrested at a residential address in Surrey and has been taken to a south London police station where she remains in custody," he added.



    I wouldn?t even thought our police officers were corrupted!!!!!!

              Fair point??.Not going as far as law and order is talked about.

              This is the message our young generation are adapting too.

              Should they be prosecuted like any other person?

                  They should be mate but they seem to get away with things nobody else can and if they do get banged up they inevitably get there sentences cut and there out in five minutes....................

                          You do not stand a chance reporting the matter to police.

                          You could be nicked for reporting I am afraid.

                          Some 1 has to look into the corruption before it gets worse!!!!!!!!!!!!
