What a weird story, the poisoner ate the stew as well after poisoning it, he just ate a lot less. It also seems that the poisoner almost got away with it as police had detained the owner of the restaurant on claims of unsanitary conditions resulting in food poisoning. The family then stepped in and demanded further investigation which resulted in the toxin being identified.
Sounds meowtrageous, but I guess anything can happen in China...
