    no wonder we are skint

Taxpayers are funding aid to Brazil even though it has become richer than Britain, Whitehall officials admitted.

Millions has been handed over in development aid in recent years despite the rapid rise of Brazil to the top rank of world economies.
And money is still going to the Latin American powerhouse in the week it was revealed to have overtaken Britain in the world?s economic league table.

They are also barring our shipping from entering any ports due to our fight with the Argies over the Falklands.

To be fair we only gave them ?13.6 million yet read this article:

It describes Brazil as an 'emerging donor' of aid actually, and estimates that Brazil gives out about $1billion a year to developing countries.

Brazil's aid, just like the UK's, it's not as selfless as it seems. The aid isn't seen as charity but more of an investment. Moreover, for Brazil, giving aid is allowing it to have more international influence.

Brazil is still basically a poor country, despite the hype about its surging economy.

          Brazilian GDP-$2,087,889,553,822
          British GDP- $2,248,831,038,714

          Brazil population: 194,946,470
          UK population: 62,218,761

Brazilian GNI (gross national income) per capita (person): $9,390

          British GNI per Capita: $38,370

I do agree with you over the Falklands though. The Argies have only become interested in it again because there's oil there and the South American countries seem to be ganging up on us a bit.

We give India money as well, even though they are one of the Bric countries, and they still have their caste system which is as bad as apartheid used to be...
