You only had to pay if you had a tv in the house.

However, now the licence will be scrapped, and a new "Broadcasting Charge" will be implemented, whether you've got a tv or not.Every single house in the country has to pay it.It's to cover all media,ie,smartphones,pc's,etc, anything that can receive a broadcast signal !!

If implented here, won't be too long coming down your tracks subsequently.

Creative bunch of fuds we have now running things.Weren't so ~~~~ing smart though to prevent all of this when they handed the deeds of the country over to Merkin and that little c**ksucker from Frogench Land(Thanks Meaty !).

Always thought television was free to watch with an antenna of some sort. I was aware companies pay for adverts (commercials) to promote there product, the money they generate from adverts pays for the broadcast. After reading other people's posts that this is not true everywhere except for North america, I am now realizing how good we actually have it here... I'm sure in time, we will be paying like the rest of the world.

It varies Canadian adverts run for 2-3 1/2 minutes every 5 minutes & American adverts goes from 2-5 minutes every 4 - 6 minutes but when your watching sports such as hockey or american football every whistle you hear could be a minute or two then go to a 6 minute commercial its kinda ridicules. A movie usually plays in 3 hours because of all the adverts. Canadian adverts are the worst, because they play the same one over and over and over... eventually you just stop watching anything and get fed up and leave.

A: No, and it was never intended to be the case. Your argument is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the tax system.

B: In post #10 you claimed that the Government spent "not 1 penny" of tax on the roads.
