    Worth a read!

Found this elsewhere, Sorry for copy and paste hope it fits in ok. Theres a few valid points in there.

So, You're not happy with the governments taking control of your internet?! The fat cats of the music and film industry pissing you off??

Its funny how 2 of the largest consumer markets on this planet have got away with no "consumer satisfaction guarantee" for so long and no one has really spoken out about it. Is it because everyone just accepts that its always been that way?

If you buy a CD, take it home, play it and realise that the only half-decent song on it is the one played on the radio and the rest of the album is utter shite. Can you take it back and get a refund? ehm, no, sadly you're stuck with a rather expensive coaster.

You spend a reasonable whack of your hard earned wages taking your better half to go and see the latest "block buster" having seen the shorts on TV and hearing all the wonderful blurb that various "critics" have been paid lots of money to say (yeah, they know its shit long before you do). You come out feeling deeply disappointed and a lot lighter in the wallet area. Can you walk up to the box office and ask for a refund? ehm, no, sadly you have to take that one in the overdraft too.

You take her out to a resteraunt for a meal to make up for the last two let-downs only to be served a meal you wouldnt give the family pet (life's like that sometimes! yes, you're having a real bad run). Can you complain about it and maybe get a refund or something edible instead? ehm, YES, as a matter of fact you can! (things is looking up)
But why? (after all, you consumed your meal, or at least part of it otherwise you wouldnt have formed the opinion that it was sub-standard).
Its because some industries dont want complaints and bad press, others just dont care, after all its just YOUR opinion and there are millions of other people out there who will buy the goods and either love them or hate them just the same.

Why should a film or CD be any different? If you think its shit are you not entitled to a refund?

Personally I download lots of albums and movies.

If I like the album I go and buy it and I tell anyone thats interested to go and buy it as well.
If I don't like it I delete it and thank my lucky stars I didn't waste my money buying another expensive coaster (I have far to many of them as it is)

I do the same with movies, and thankfull I am for the ability to do so.

Wages are hard earned and everything we do is taxed to the maximum, even our beloved internet, our ISP's, our file hosting sites all our little interests we subscibe too, they all create a wealth of revenue for the governments of all our countries.
So, let them shut it all down, let the internet become a guarded place where the people have no voice, let the governments control what we see, what we hear, what we say and what we download. Let the attraction die and everyone find different interests and let the revenue and jobs created within the internet die also. Who loses the most from that? Everyone.

Boycott the movie and music industries (they are the real power behind the governments after all).

Don't go to the cinema for a month (no matter how good that new film sounds).

Don't buy any new albums for a month.

Don't even turn on your local radio for a month.

Don't download that real catchy tune from itunes for a month.

    Spread the word.

Organize boycotts in your home town.

Give the power back to the people.
