Anonymous Takes Down CIA Web Site

Anonymous has ended a rather busy week with a hack of the CIA website, which is currently offline.
"CIA TANGO DOWN: https://www.cia.gov/ #Anonymous," the @YourAnonNews feed tweeted around 3:30pm Eastern.
The CIA.gov website has been unresponsive for about an hour. Anonymous did not release details about the attack, but the group usually uses distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks to take down its targets.

Yes I think it was the White House site or similar. Fidelis Security need to up their R&D a bit

Excuse my ignorance on this matter,but kinda logically thinking here.

What,in effect,have they actually achieved by this.It's only a bloody website ?Surely,an organisation like CIA would be nowhere near websites on their daily operations.This doesn't affect them in the least.

Who has the ability to pull the reins on this Anonymous outfit ?
They might appear to have all the hallmarks of a noble cause,but what happens when certain elements of said setup go rogue ?

How far can they go ?And,realistically,why ?

I had to chuckle the other day as there was a guy on the TV wearing an anonymous sweat shirt and saying he was one of the origional members describing their attacks.

I'm sure a lot of them are decent people and fighting a good cause but some are just misguided. The Governments are a bit more clued up than some of these guys think, so stand by for a few getting a knock at the door and a long holiday behind bars.

It's a bit of a risk taking the chance of life behind bars with no access to Dungeons and Dragons just so they can download software freely.

OK, so slightly confused, but if anybody has an e-mail address for these hackers, can you ask them to redirect google to here on DK - just think of how many new members to gain.
