Harmful addiction ... Shannon drinks fuel
A PRETTY teen takes a swig of petrol from a canister in a bid to feed her incredible addiction.
The youngster, identified as Shannon, describes her bizarre compulsion in a new documentary.
In it, it's said she necks up to 12 teaspoons of the fuel every day.
She claims: "It tingles at first and then it burns the back of my throat."
On the go ... Shannon pours petrol into clear bottle
And she insists despite the pain involved in forcing down the harmful substance she cannot resist it, saying: "Even though it hurts me, it makes me feel good."
TLC show My Strange Addiction, also features footage of Shannon's mother who says she was forced to confront her daughter about her dangerous compulsion when she began to smell fumes on her breath.
Programme makers estimate Shannon has drunk over five gallons in the last year alone.

Drinking petrol can cause severe damage to the nervous system, heart, liver, kidneys, lungs and bone marrow.
But those risks did not deter a gas-gulping Brit from exhibiting similar behaviour.
Brian Taylor was handed an ASBO in 2005 banning him from every petrol station in his home town of Middlesbrough for drinking four star straight from the pump.
