the cost will be down to the average user.my road tax went up by ?5 this year.
if they froze it at that price and wrote in blood that it would never rise again, all current roads would remain free as they are now and only new ventures would incur a levy then it would appear reasonable.
i know that is what he is saying at the moment but when it goes tits up down the line as it always does in this country it will be down to us to bail them out of the brown stuff.
it will be the banking fiasco again but on a grander scale

I know where the money goes .... straight in to the pockets of the politicians and their 'chums'.

Won't be long before criminals hijack fuel tankers ...

I can see it now ...

" I got E's, trips, coke, stereo systems, flat screen tv's and for this week only I can do you deisel for ?1 a litre ... "

We are being held to ransom with motoring.
You can't beat these people at the games they play because they just make new laws to suppress new arguements and protests. Then when we stand up to oppose we become criminals.

There is another income from the motorist the government forget to mention.

Three police cars constantly patrol our town 'pouncing' on motorists for driving 'offences' and handing out ?60 fines. The same force take approx. 5 days to get officers to victims houses in responce to burglaries, etc (although CSI are there same day).

It all went downhill when those who could afford to send there kids to Uni started breeding politicians.

I've always thought this to be a good and fair solution. The big problem is what the DVLA would do with all their computers that account for Road Fund Licence & SORN, furthermore what about the jobs of all the DVLA staff involved in checking road tax... and what about the jobs of Traffic Wardens and Policemen employed to check Road Tax.. These automatic licence plate recognition cameras to check road tax would be made redundant too....
