MPs approve NHS bill as Labour bid fails

The government's health changes have survived their final parliamentary test and are set to become law.

A Labour call for MPs to postpone their final consideration of the NHS overhaul in England until an assessment of the potential risks is published was defeated by 82 votes.

The House of Lords approved the bill late on Monday evening.

The government hopes the Health and Social Care Bill will now get Royal Assent and become law by Easter.

The bill has had a difficult passage through Parliament with the government conceding substantial changes to the legislation.

The truth about who voted for the changes need to be known before any parties can be blamed or congratulated.

There are 786 Lords yet only 574 Lords voted on this and it was passed by 82 votes. Considering there are only 297 Conservative and Liberal Lords yet 328 voted for the changes tells me it wasn't just a Con/Lib stitch up.

It would also be nice to see how easily some parties were bribed to enable the vote to get to the Lords in the first place.

You do have Health insurance, its called National Insurance. Some of this payment is to fund the NHS.

We all know that the NHS isn't efficient and the last thing it needs is another reform package from the Tories that tackles nothing except to reduce your care..
