You need to find out who is buying and selling the oil futures. Right now there is no discloser law. The way it is setup right now in what you can buy on credit it only takes 9 billion dollars to control the world oil market. I'm not saying one person is buying and selling it all but 9 billion isn't a lot to some in the world. Supply and demand should set price but we all know demand is down world wide and the price is going up why? For all we know BP or Exxon-Mobil are buying a large chunk of the futures then deciding to close a refinery or two disrupting supply and well you know the rest they make money on both ends. Their are other factors to but if we knew who were buying and selling the futures their would be no abuse and market forces would set price. til then bend over and insert pump handle at these prices.

and the government stays quiet, since each time the price rises. Due to the rise in the oil price the government rakes in more duty and VAT from the motorist at the pump with no 'blame' and makes more in tax revenue from the oil company profits. I'd say that the government would rather the oil companies raise the price, that way teh government can blame someone else.

Army on standby for tanker strike

Hundreds of soldiers are being lined up to stand in for petrol tanker drivers threatening strike action next month.

The Army and police are on standby to ensure fuel deliveries do not grind to a halt resulting in the same chaos that hit Tony Blair's government in 2000.

Another reason I like LPG as they may run out of petrol but they don't run out of LPG, plus I can get it at garden centres and other filling places.

is that not good drivers striking country grinds to a halt?

then folks will notice how much fossil fuel we waste per day?

so if the army are delivering fuel who is looking after airports where people arejjambing bent coins in slott machines

As soon as enough people start switching the government will raise the duty, they did the same with diesel - which is why the UK is the only country in Europe that has the price of diesel more expensive than petrol.

They said the same thing when I switched to LPG 12 years ago. It was less than half the price of petrol then and still is.

The government wont be raising the duty too much as they are still touting LPG as the green alternative, you even get a reduction on your road tax for using it, and free passage through the congestion zones in London.

Either way you look at it your going to pay more one way or the other. All i say is use as much as you can afford. Where i live they told us to cut back on electric use so after two years everyone did. They saved so much that profits were down at the electric company so they raised the price. Now what did all that saving do? It made it now that you pay more for less. Always remember it's the government fault for everything.
