New photo of Madeleine McCann 'aged 9'

The Metropolitan Police have said Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in Portugal five years ago, could still be alive.

Scotland Yard detectives have been working closely with a senior Portuguese officer on a review of the case.

They say they have uncovered nearly 200 potential leads.

Because the parents still believe that if they push the 'Our daughter is still alive' line long enough. People might start to believe them & stop calling them murderers.

Despite the fact that almost all the country thinks they did kill her.

This is probably a more likely image of her now..... It's only a movie prop.

Never read a newspaer in my life but I still believe the parents are culpable. They probably didn't actually kill the child but it seems quite likely she died in some form of accident whilst unsupervised and the parents then covered up the event.

As to the 'new' photo, unfortunately, these things are rarely particularly accurate. Although ageing software is pretty good these days its not yet up to the task of modelling a childs 'future' looks.

well in 2 yrs time, she can be declared legally dead.. they should be charged with manslaughter then.

                    wrong!!

The trial is ongoing. Suzanne Pillay was last seen on CCTV on the bus going to work and then entering her workplace. She was never seen leaving and her body has never been found-The 49-year-old denies murdering 38-year-old Suzanne on May 4, 2010,
in Edinburgh or elsewhere in Scotland. He further also denies trying to
                    cover up the alleged killing.
Gilroy found guilty despite no body, no murder weapon and no forensic evidence

The whole thing stings if you ask me??..

Why parents have to cover up even if she accidentally died.

I rather suffer telling the truth then lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truth of the matter is in most decline countries young girls and boys disappear without trace and it will take a miracle to find her??.

I really like to see the end of kidnapers game, the suffering they course to the family.

Have any of the possible suspects been subjected to a lie detector test ? The latest ones are said to be almost foolproof.

A think if they were foolproof then the courts would implement them tomorrow mate, a lie detector may help your case outside of court but it won't prove your innocence or guilt outright, theres just been too many instances of it being wrong..

A think some people are being a bit cruel in this thread!
Yes the McCann's were stupid in leaving the kids unsupervised but a think they know that, they lost there little daughter as a result and they will need to live with that for the rest of their lives and that's something i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
A don't think any parents could go on telly pleading for help and maintain a aggressive fund raising campaign if they had anything to do with whats happened to Madeleine.

A think parents in general are too protective of their kids these days.
The chances of anything happening are remote and lets face it, we take risks everyday.
I'm 40 and a know when a was younger life for a kid had much more freedom, ma parents never had a clue where a was from age 7 upwards..
Everyday you send your kids to school there's a risk something could happen, anytime you have lost sight of them when they were in the garden 5min ago something could happen, anytime they have gave you the slip in the supermarket something could happen..
Am not trying to terrify any of you Mum and Dads out there but kids are a risk accessors nightmare, if we spent all day worrying about them then we would never leave the house..

There is a good reason the police have launched an updated photo of Madeleine and if you look at the facts at what happened that night and how the resulting investigation was performed then it makes sense she may still be alive..
A find it scary that some people actually think that the McCann's are covering up some accident that would require disposing of her body which would be almost impossible as would facing the press all the time never mind carrying out a campaign to find her .
The McCann's have paid the ultimate price for being careless and a feel nothing but sorry for them as each day must be a living hell..

It must be great to be a perfect parent but a haven't met one yet..
