Hero dog critically hurt after dragging collapsed owner from train tracks and getting hit herself

A heroic pit bull was hit by a train after putting herself in its path to save her unconscious owner.
Christine Spain was walking home from a friend?s house with her 8-year-old mutt Lilly when she collapsed on some train tracks in Shirley, Boston.
The quick-thinking pooch grabbed the woman and began dragging her toward safer ground, out of the path of an oncoming freight train.

Lilly made it in time to save Spain, who escaped without injury, but at a cost to herself.
The train?s engineer saw the brave dog and tried to stop but couldn?t. Its wheels sliced through her right foot, fractured her pelvis in several places and caused suffered internal injuries, too.
Despite her wounds a blood-soaked Lilly continued to stand guard over Spain until paramedics arrived.

She was rushed to an emergency animal hospital in Acton, then taken by Spain's police officer son, David Lanteigne, to Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston where she is undergoing extensive treatment.
Lanteigne told the Boston Channel that he had adopted the dog for his mother three years before, in a bid to help curb her drinking.
?Lilly's recovery from this horrific ordeal is my top priority right now and I'll do everything possible to get her back home to us,? he told the channel.

Sad, sad, story. This poor dog put it's life on the line for the love of it's alcoholic owner. No judgement, just love.

Christine the thick t*@t should now be charged with walking near \ on the train tracks and also animal cruelty, why can people get into their thick heads:

Roads + vehicles = danger, stay out the roads
Track + trains = danger, stay off the tracks
