The 2009 figures released by diabetes.org.uk show that 2.6 million people have been diagnosed, with a possible 500,000 undiagnosed cases.

That makes a whopping 4% of the UK population, not 44%.

When you start claiming to know stuff.....It's better to do some research first. Or at least read what you have typed. It stops you looking like tit.

Did you know Popeye came into being because someone didn't check their data correctly. They published that spinich had 10% more iron than other vegetables per portion. It was a typo/data error... The real figure was 1%. But the error was left in as it increased the amount of spinich kids were eating.
