Batman US cinema shooting: Fourteen dead in Denver

At least 14 people have been killed in a shooting at a Batman film premiere in the US city of Denver, police say.
About 50 people have been injured in the incident at the cinema complex in the suburb of Aurora.
Witnesses say a gunman wearing a gas mask opened fire during a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises.
A man was arrested in a car park nearby in possession of a rifle and hand-gun. He told police that explosives were stored at his home.
Police chief Dan Oates told reporters that an apartment block in the north of Aurora had been evacuated as a consequence of that information.
More weapons may have been left in the cinema, he said

It is a shame that someone would snap like that. There was no excuse for such sensless loss of life. Ive heard alot of people clamoring for tightening of laws, but I dont feel that will help. He obviously had bombs he could have used.

It's always the same when these things happen. Everyone jumps on the 'tighten gun laws' bandwaggon. Because every idiot knows that these things don't happen when you can't buy guns in shops..... Yeah, right!

We have a complete ban on handguns, farmers & a few other nutters can have shotguns.

I am not a farmer or a nutter. But if I wanted to snap & run round the streets shooting people, it would take two phone calls.
Within 24 hours I'd have at least 3 offers for handguns & probably two more for assault rifles & hand grenades.

If someone wants a gun, they'll get one. No matter how tight the laws are.

I though he was pissed over the price of popcorn. Why can't these people who do shooting can't point their anger at the politico who run the country and leave the innocent alone. I feel bad that a 6 year old was killed but what mother takes her 6 year old to a movie showing at midnight and a movie that is not fit for a 6 year old to see. People who do things like this should be sentence to Thunderdome when found guilty.
