    The power of intermittent fasting

Scientists are uncovering evidence that short periods of fasting, if properly controlled, could achieve a number of health benefits, as well as potentially helping the overweight, as Michael Mosley discovered.

I'd always thought of fasting as so mething unpleasant, with no obvious long term benefits. So when I was asked to make a documentary that would involve me going without food, I was not keen as I was sure I would not enjoy it.

But the Horizon editor assured me there was great new science and that I might see some dramatic improvements to my body. So, of course, I said, "yes".

I am not strong-willed enough to diet over the long term, but I am extremely interested in the reasons why eating less might lead to increased life span, particularly as scientists think it may be possible to get the benefits without the pain.

            The power of intermittent ~~~~~~~

Thats something i had to read...
"Windows - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition."

It sort of makes sense as this its likely our ancestors wouldn't of always been successful whilst hunting gathering so their diets would likely of been glut/famine based.

I'm sure there would also of been seasonal variations so it wouldn't suprise me to find out there are health benefits to being on a reducing calorie diet during the autumn/winter months and an increasing calorie diet during the spring/summer months.

Rather than spending large sums of money on this kind of research, perhaps a simpler/cheaper approach might be to look back at how our bodies evolved to function in the first place. Chances are, operating as per original spec will be one of the 'healthiest' options.
