    Police probe 'Moors murder letter'

Police are investigating whether Moors Murderer Ian Brady has written a letter to be opened on his death revealing the location of Keith Bennett's body.

But Martin Bottomley, head of investigative review of Greater Manchester Police's major and cold case crime unit, said: "We do not know if this is true or simply a ruse."

Police launched their investigation after Brady's mental health advocate told a Channel 4 documentary that he gave her a sealed envelope to pass to Winnie Johnson, the mother of his 12-year-old victim Keith Bennett, in the event of his death.

Jackie Powell, 49, who was appointed Brady's mental health advocate in 1999, was detained in south Wales on suspicion of preventing the burial of a body without lawful exercise.

But detectives examining documents seized from Ms Powell's home have so far found no evidence to suggest Brady disclosed the location of Keith's body. And Ms Powell has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

This episode has really up stated me over the years and I will never able to know the truth why they had to go killing this lovely children?s.

I was young when these horrendous crimes against children were committed.

From time to time, and never a year has gone by, without these two murderers being in the press for all kinds or reasons.

The attempt by Lord Longford to have Hindley released.

The anguish of the parents of Keith Bennett. The letter that Hindley wrote which was published in the Red Tops saying that she felt she had atoned for her crimes.

The films that were made. Hindley's last wish to have her ashes sprinkled on Saddleworth moor.

They have served to further the anguish and horror felt by the parents of those lovely children.

They caused unimaginable pain for almost 50 years to the family of keith Bennett, lets just hope for the sake of keiths mother it is where her son is buried.

Jackie Powell, 49, who was appointed Brady's mental health advocate in 1999 was given a letter to pass it over to the Keiths mother is just as evil for not informing the police straight away!

Mental health advocates are absolute tossers,

do gooders who dont have a clue about mental health

I hope she is charged with something, my belief would be wasting police time, then never work in health care again.

all mental patients have access to free legal representation/advice, there is no need for advocates,
there nothing but self important trouble makers.

If the Advocate is telling the truth, that Brady gave her a letter to take out of the hospital, she has contravened the "Mental Health Act: Section 281",
which allows hospital management/nursing staff to intercept incoming and outgoing mail, much like in a prison.

I deal with Advocates on a daily/weekly basis, and they have to hand over this kind of info to staff/management before they leave the hospital.
and I only work in medium secure hospitals, Ashworth, is in a league of it own when it comes to security,

I think she is talking out of her backside, trying to big herself up, as I said if she is telling the truth then I hope she is charged with something.

            Very upset day for all.........

Moors murder victim's mother dies without finding his grave.

The mother of a boy murdered 48 years ago by jailed British serial killer, Moors murderer Ian Brady, died on Saturday without ever knowing where her 12-year old son was buried, her lawyer said.

The death of Winnie Johnson at the age of 78 after a long battle with cancer came just a day after it was revealed that Brady may have disclosed the location of Keith Bennett's body in a sealed letter.

In a statement issued Saturday, John Ainley, a senior partner at the law firm representing Bennett's mother, said: "Winnie Johnson, mother of the last missing Moors Murders victim Keith Bennett, has died without discovering her son's whereabouts

Our condolence with your family we are with you all along.

Bless you Winnie, now you are reunited with your little boy up in heaven.

Rest in peace both of you xxxx

I don't know if this was said tongue in cheek,

But saddleworth moor in vast, it stretches from saddleworth in Oldham to Huddersfield, a distance of 13 miles,
and it's one of the most hostile places (weather wise) in England, hence why there's no trees there,
many years ago I did some work up there, but we could only work, April to September, the rest of the year the weather was to bad.

to give you an idea of the size of the moor, click on the link below and scroll down.

A watched the channel 4 documentary and i saw in the papers that Jackie Powell was forced from her home by angry neighbours who were disgusted by her actions.
A have very little sympathy for Jackie except to say that she is another human being thats been twisted by that monster Brady.

Remember when Hindley was trying to convince the world that she had changed and that her mind was poisoned by Brady, to many peoples horror she actually gained a lot of support.
Mostly it was younger people who had a vague knowledge of the case and when confronted with the facts they changed their tune very quickly to, "let the bitch rot in hell", quite rightly so and hopefully she is.

Brady is on his last legs now, which is good as hopefully he will die soon and his wicked little games will come to a end.
If he had a shred of decency he would have done two things before poor Winnie died.
He would have confessed to where Keith's body was buried to best of his knowledge and allowed a concentrated dig in a much smaller area.
Or he would have came clean and said that in all honesty he simply cannot remember where Keith is.
A find it difficult to believe that he can't remember, its not like he stashed stolen goods or something, he took the life of a kid in a obscene and disgusting manner, he fu***** knows alright.

Instead he decided to play another sick little game where he gets himself into the media and twists the dagger in poor Winnie's heart for the last time.
We have all been taken for a mug at some point in our lives, that's not a bad thing as we learn form it and should never apologise for being human.
However Jackie Powell is a walking disgrace who should have the full weight of the law thrown at her.!
She was well aware of what this monster did, she is well aware of what he is capable of and she should have acted as a professional and got advice if unsure what to do.
More to the point she should have acted like a normal human being and said, fu*& his human rights and opened the envelope.
If it contained valuable information she should have hurled her ass to the cop shop and let them act on it.
They could easily send a team to the moors and execute a press gag whilst doing it.

Powell states that she didn't want to violate his human rights or betray his trust.
If she gives priority of his human rights instead of his victims and their families and long time suffering of poor Winnie then she is a crackpot, she should never be allowed to work in this profession again and should be charged with impeding the course of justice.
A only have to take a look at my young nieces and nephews to get angry at Powells decision, young and innocent with their whole life to look forward to.
If you have young kids i wouldn't suggest you do the same, its a horrible thought that goes beyond scary.
However if you believe that Powell did the right thing then a suggest you do look at your kids and put yourself in Winnies position for a few seconds.
Am pretty sure after that you will probably feel the same way Powells neighbours did and want her nowhere near you.
Powell pushed it beyond being gullible or naive, this wasn't lack of professionalism, it was lack of humanity.
