Boy, 14, raped in department store

LONDON ? Police are searching for two men after a 14-year-old boy was raped in a Manchester department store toilet on a Saturday afternoon.

The boy was in the Arndale Centre in Manchester city centre at around 5.45pm on June 2 when he went to the toilet.

"While there he was approached by two men, one Asian, one white, who stared at him," a Greater Manchester Police statement said.

"One of them said to him 'come with us, do what we say and if you try to run we'll get you' and he was grabbed by the arm, led out of the Arndale centre and taken to nearby Debenhams.

"He was then taken by the lift upstairs and was marched to a toilet where he was raped by the Asian man."

Police said the victim, described as "traumatised", reported the incident and has been supported by a team of specially trained officers who have spent the last two months working with him to build a picture of what happened.

The statement said police were also waiting for the results of forensics tests before making their appeal.

Detective Sergeant Liam Boden, of North Manchester CID, said: "This young victim has been absolutely devastated by what happened to him."

the poor lad was only 14 year old, this story turned my stomach, I hope he can come to terms with it , and sort his life out.

i understand and agree with your sentiments on the pondlife that that find comedy in such harrowing and traumatic circumstances but to remove yourself from a site because of them is just a self defeating act.

when i read some of the posts that have got certain members short term or even life time bans from this site i do not understand how others slip through the net when they are clearly not just over the line of decency but way over the horizon

Why are people questioning,in hindsight,why the boy didn't do this or that?

Remember please that as well as fright or flight another human reaction to danger is to FREEZE.

Boys and men are not warned about rape and are not socialized to be on the look out for sexual predators in the same way as girls and women. It is very likely not to have occurred to him that these men would rape him.

It is also very clear that they were threatening him, he was probably afraid that they would hit him or kill him or do something else to him if he struggled.

you obviously dont know Manchester and how close the Arndale is to Debenhams,
this happened in June and has only just been released to the public by the police not the press,
the police had informed shop keepers to be on the look out for them in the hope they came back,
dont you think this lad would have been medically checked, and his story verified with CCTV,
this is obviously big news in Manchester, and has now drawn our MP's to question why the police didn't release a statement earlier.

The Fuzz CCTV showed the news (with sound) on the tv in the waiting room, clearly stating they have been pinned up the wall and integated by the Spanish Inquestion.
