A man who lives as an Apache Indian in Swansea will not be prosecuted for wanting to turn badger paws and eagle wings into a headdress.
Mangas Colaradas, 60, was due to stand trial, accused of keeping protected wild animal parts but the Crown Prosecution Service has dropped the case.
Mr Coloradas, who has lived as an Apache for 20 years, said: "I'm pleased, but it shouldn't have come to anything in the first place.
"They just don't understand my native way of life. I'd never kill or hurt an animal. But as a native, when I find a dead animal I will eat it or use its body parts."
The father of six brought back the paws and wings when he returned to his three-bed semi in Swansea from Spain, where he had lived in a teepee.
He refuses to reveal his original name - and answers only to his adopted name in honour of a famous Apache chief.
He had previously appeared in court wearing a ceremonial head dress, tassled jacket, suede moccasins and a snake's head necklace.
He said: "I dress like this all the time. I'm not just some weekend Indian. I don't put it on to show off, I put it on because I want to wear it."
