Azelle Rodney shooting: Police video shows car pursuit

Footage showing the pursuit of suspects in north London which led to the fatal shooting of Azelle Rodney seven years ago has been released.
Mr Rodney, 24, was shot six times by a marksman in Edgware, north London, after the car he was in was brought to a halt.
Officers thought he and two others were on their way to commit an armed raid.
The video is part of police footage shown to the public inquiry into Mr Rodney's death on Monday.

There are lots of people running around with guns in USA, they do not get killed because a police officer thought they were on the way for robbery?. He might have a gun licence.

If the police officer new they were going for robbing a bank or shop why they did not wait till the action began?????

wot if they got to the bank and just started shooting ? we would be blaming the cops then aswell for not stopping them before , it's a no win ,

Because they were on their way to knock off a drug dealer, who would also be armed. Stopping one group of armed men is bad enough without adding a second group of armed men... both groups of men sharing a dislike for the police.

You should always argue when it comes from police statements.

Police believed they were on their way to commit an armed robbery not even 50% shore.

Immediately afterwards police said the dead man had been seen holding a firearm, but it later emerged this was not true.

Suppose you have got the firearm licence do you not suppose to take your gun with you in the car???

Remember if some one grass you that you are carrying a gun you will get killed for no reason because police do not need the proof that?s ok with you.

There are number of incidents over the last 25 years but we better stick with this one.

looked like he was going for a gun , wot would u of done ? wait afew more seconds or let the scum have it , the worlds a better place without scum like this , they dont care who they kill so **** um I say , some people are blinded by there hate for the police , it's a dirty job and someone has to do it and thank god they do.

Well he should visit the specsavers instead of some 1 losing lives for this scum officer who saw a gun never existed in his hand.

We have this inquires because some thing does not add up, can not wait to see the real truth?

anyone thas shot has to be checked , no judge in his right mind will go against the police , guns in car known crim , nothing's going to happen

Apart from bringing one more incident to light where the police have acted on instinct and not evidence, nobody within the force, even if found guilty of an unlawful killing, will be prosecuted.
