Pretty much same in the UK. You can pick them up for as little as ?10 in various places so its not really suprising some will end up in the food chain.

It's the little piggies that was in them that will be worrying those whose religion bans it.

For most people the issue isnt about eating horse (after all it is just another meat), but being misled into buying something that isnt what it says on the packet. I mean 30% horse meat ffs, its not a trace....

Horse meat firms may face action

The UK's food watchdog is considering whether legal action should be taken against companies at the centre of the scandal over horse meat in beef burgers.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said they would consult relevant local authorities and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) over whether to take action against any organisations embroiled in the controversy.

After a meeting with food industry representatives, the FSA said they would continue their review of the traceability of the food products identified in an FSAI survey, which uncovered the scandal.

Just like to point out first - i was in a COSTOMERS CAR in the PARKING LOT - i do NOT listen to Radio 2 - but they was saying a cow has to be turned off in a slaughter house, licensed etc etc, no illness etc etc.

was the hourses slaughtered or picked up by the Gypos?

                            What is next anywya
