
Two people have been killed and at least eleven others injured after a helicopter crashed into a crane on a building site in London.
Police said the helicopter appeared to have hit the crane on top of the building at around 08:00
The Metropolitan Police said two people died at the scene and two had been taken to hospital, there were 11 casualties who were "less seriously injured".
Reports said up to 60 firefighters were attending the crash site near Wandsworth Road in South Lambeth.
The stricken aircraft exploded into flames after hitting the crane, on top of a tower block by the River Thames, before crashing into a street during rush hour.
Aviation fuel and burning wreckage covered the road as witnesses reported seeing cars on fire and hearing people screaming.
