What is with the left wing that they dont like working I know people who love there work and
who want to work more hours but then they are the older generation who are not frighten of work
I work in excess of the working time directive, not afraid of it at all, and I don't get paid anything more for any time I work over my contracted hours. So your assertion isn't quite correct. Then again I'd have to question whether I'd consider myself to the left in politics anyway, and I don't. In reality I don't care they all lie anyway. However there's a difference, no-one can demand that I work more than the time set down in the directive without my written consent. If it were not for the WTD then they could, and potentially sack someone for not working in the extreme cases.
If t were up to the conservatives and liberals 10 year old kids would still be working in the mines for 12 hours a day 7 days a week. None of them wanted to end that being possible in the 19th century, and if they had their way the same would be true today.
Without the WTD a lot of people would have no quality of life with a work life balance.
