It's over' for Rooney and United

Sir Alex Ferguson omitted Rooney from his starting line-up for United's biggest game of the season against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The Daily Mirror reports that Ferguson's decision left Rooney "furious" and that neither side wishes to open contract negotiations in the summer, when the England striker's current deal will have two years to run.

Ferguson informed Rooney at a team meeting two hours before kick-off - The Times reports the player reacted calmly, but revealed his anger to team-mates before the game.

His wife Coleen tweeted: ?Can't believe @WayneRooney isn't starting tonight!!!?

The news - following behind the scenes briefing from the Rooney and United camps - makes most of the back pages and even the front of the Daily Star.

The Star claims Cristiano Ronaldo will replace him at Old Trafford before adding the rather significant caveat "or another signing" some way down the article.

Most papers value Rooney at ?35 million, but the Telegraph claims the 27-year-old could leave for as little as ?20m due to the breakdown in his relationship with the club.

Rooney has been England's most overrated player for years- he simply cannot justify the wages he's on any more and continue to turn in mediocre performances. Van persie has come in this term and shown him up for what he is- an average player.

and? so what if he does? if another job came along which offered you 100,000 per week, would you stay where you were out of loyalty? People build footballers up and moan when they do exactly the same as anybody else would have done.
People who stay at one club are the exception rather than the rule.

S Gerrard is a footballer I feel sorry for, for staying at LFC and never winning a Prem Title, you know everybody is going to remind him everyday off his retirement. Great footballer and a shame.

"This isn't just a job to me." "It's a mission. I am deadly serious about it. Some people would reckon too serious. We will get there, believe me. And when it happens, life will change for Liverpool and everyone else - dramatically."

Giggs has NEVER been eligible to play for England.
Yes, he may have captained the England schoolboys team but eligibility for schoolboy level depends solely on the location of the school.
Also, Giggs has stated that even if he did qualify for England and could choose between England & Wales, then he would have chosen Wales anyway.

My apologies to pour cold water on the b*ll*cks that idiots in the pub have been peddling for years.

B*ll*cks has a long history in pubs and an integral part of pub culture but you should never listen to it.

Here's a link for those of you that might want to learn about the history of pub b*ll*cks.

He is better off going before Ferguson's bum chum Ronny arrives. Everton certainly cannot afford Rooney. Man City don't want him. Perhaps it's time to pack your bags and join Beckham in France it's his only option.
