Maddie: Hunt for 6 Brit cleaners

COPS investigating the Madeleine McCann case are trying to trace six British cleaners working in Portugal when she disappeared.
The group were based in Praia da Luz when Madeleine, then just three, vanished from her family?s holiday complex in 2007.

A property owner has told how cops probing the disappearance asked four times about the cleaners.

Officers became aware of the six to eight Brit workers ? who are said to have used a white van ? after poring through evidence amassed during the original Portuguese investigation.

They are now asking for information about the group from owners whose properties overlook the Praia da Luz apartment where Madeleine stayed.

It is the first time the cleaners have been mentioned during any investigations into the three-year old?s disappearance.

WITNESSES have mentioned a white van before in the Madeleine case ? most recently in 2010.

Carlos Moreira, 65, said he saw her lying in the back of a van near the spot where she vanished.

He told investigators he had seen a couple who looked like gypsies near the vehicle.

Operation Grange was set up by PM David Cameron following pleas from Madeleine?s family, who live in Rothley, Leics.

A Met Police spokesman said speaking to individuals was part of its review, adding: ?Officers are reviewing all of the material in relation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. This is routine procedure as part of the ongoing review.?

When ever I hear some ones child goes missing my heart is broken, imagine the parents of missing child have to go through and Madeleine family are still going through all this grief. Wish the family all the luck they can get to find there daughter.

I have always thought the same as the portugese detective even before he said what he said

dont forget they are both doctors, highly educated, and more than capable of manipulating people to their own means, and being doctors they will have mosts peeps on their side from the start, yes they know a lot more than they are letting on, thats a fact.

Thing is with that manufactering defect in her eye and the fact some Swedish (?) kid that was recovered, serial numbers check no match found

If it was a small dot on her foot yeah got a chance of painting over it, or rebaging etc etc, but the eye not even T cut could sort that.

I dont believe it was done on purpose maybe an accident, but i think they decided it would be better for twins to have their mum than have her locked up

i would guess the place was some smelly flea bitten hot shit hole, and the door was easy to open, janitors keys? Last teennant cut key, bend it shape it anyway you want it door open?

some off-line 'friends' went on Vacation to somewhere, short story is, somebody went in the safe and emptyed it.

The local fuzz refused to speak to anybody unless there were DK members and spoke fluant Spainish or Frogench whatever it was.

Watched some fuzz probramme on TV they used a prybar cheisel or shovel and popped the door open, no damaged.

funny how, despite the grief they must feel, their competence and responsibility has never really been called into question.

i wonder how they have managed not to be arrested for allowing this to happen, i mean if they had not left the child unattended would maddie have been taken?

if it were a scabbly council flat family theyd have been done by social services.

clearly the authorities cannot do anything against the family as it would be unpalatable given their grief.
