Six people arrested after robbery as police track down thieves by following footprint

Six people were arrested over a robbery at a convenience store in Warwickshire last week after they failed to follow the most basic rule in the thief?s handbook ? always cover your tracks.

As the winter weather continues to cause chaos across the country, the bumbling thieves were tracked down by police after officers simply followed their footprints in the snow leading away from the store and to a block of flats nearby.

The robbery at the One Stop store in Whitnash at around 7:30am on Saturday saw members of staff threatened by two men who also stole money and scratchcards.

Having followed the footprints in the snow, officers moved on to a second address following further enquiries and subsequently arrested four people.

Two others were then arrested later in the day.
