Tony Blair has risked reigniting his feud with Gordon Brown by claiming Labour would have come closer to victory in the 2010 General Election had he still been Prime Minister.
In a move that suggests he was underwhelmed by his successor's performance in the campaign, Mr Blair said he would have given David Cameron a "run for his money" and the contest would have been "tighter than it was".
A closer result could have offered Labour the chance to stay in government, allowing the party to more easily form a Coalition with the Liberal Democrats.
